Job Summary

We’re hiring a Senior Audio Engineer on a full-time basis in Herndon, Virginia. As an Audio Engineer on our team you’ll author and modify sound for VFX sequences. It is the Audio Engineer’s job to create believable sound that blends seamlessly into the background of our video products. As a senior team member you’re responsible for pushing the envelope and mentoring those of less experience to do the same. The ideal candidate has years of experience in audio engineering in a studio setting with experience in foley, film, and/or music. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Blend into the Noise - Understand what makes audio believable. Author SFX that are unquestionably realistic.
  • Build - Understand the needs of our VFX workflow, research locations for field capture, and build a library of in house SFX.
  • Advise - Use your knowledge and experience to advise our team when bidding on projects.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in a professional studio setting capturing and editing audio
  • Expert level mastery of Logic, Protools, Audition, or other similar program.
  • Highly developed ear for realism
  • Deep understanding of how microphones “perceive” the world
  • Able to work within established production pipelines and coordinate amongst other teams
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under high pressure with short deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable giving and receiving critique
  • Is self-motivated and self-reliant
  • Must have a learning mind-set
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge/Experience working with a VFX team is a plus
  • Knowledge of physiology that plays a role in vocal performance, capture, and modification
  • Must be capable of completing job requirements without the assistance of AI tools
  • US citizenship required
