About This Position
When you join the E3 team, you will be working on some of the most important energy issues with some of the top minds in the electricity industry. We help shape energy and climate policy, play vital roles in regulatory proceedings, advise executives, and inform investment and planning selections. At E3, you will be challenged and inspired.
E3 supports regulators, utilities, investors, and policymakers with rigorous energy and climate modeling that informs real-world decisions. Our analyses shape regulatory proceedings, grid planning, and long-term decarbonization strategies.
The Cloud Platform Engineer enables that work. You will design and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers large-scale modeling and analytics across the firm. Your work will ensure the reliability, security, and transparency of systems used to create high-impact, client-facing analyses and reports. These reports directly impact actions that are actively decarbonizing the energy system.
This is a hands-on platform ownership role. As a member of a small technology team, you will be the resident expert for cloud systems and need to wear other hats as required: software developer, data scientist, IT support, etc.
You will own the architecture and governance of E3’s AWS, GitHub, and related environments. You will implement the standards, automation, and guardrails that allow our teams to move quickly without losing discipline.
You will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and corporate IT while directly implementing infrastructure improvements. This is not a ticket-based operations role; it requires a high level of autonomy with authority over cloud architecture and provisioning.
Work Environment
E3 has adopted a hybrid and flexible work environment that adapts to changing needs of projects and safety requirements. Because E3 thrives in a strong collaborative office-based working environment, we encourage our E3 employees to work from the office at least 2-3 days per week, usually including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
