SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Salary Range: $110K - $115K

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join our team. This role is heavily focused on full-cycle recruiting and plays a critical role in attracting, hiring, and onboarding top talent across the organization. In addition, this position serves as a trusted HR partner to leadership, supporting employee relations, compliance, and key HR programs.

What You Will Do

Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)

  • Lead high-volume, full-cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt roles across multiple locations
  • Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, develop job requirements, and execute effective recruiting strategies
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, and direct outreach
  • Manage the full hiring process from screening and interviewing to offer and onboarding
  • Ensure a strong, professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, pipeline activity) to support workforce planning

HR Business Partnership & Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations
  • Coach leaders on accountability, performance expectations, and effective employee management practices
  • Support organizational initiatives, workforce planning, and change management efforts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies


HR Operations & Programs

  • Administer employee leave and accommodation processes in compliance with applicable laws
  • Support and communicate employee benefits programs in partnership with vendors
  • Maintain HRIS systems (ADP, ClearCo), employee records, and reporting
  • Assist with HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
  • Support onboarding, orientations, exit interviews, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Assist with compensation practices, job classifications, and performance review cycles

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior HR Generalist performs professional-level HR duties in support of all office locations and reports to the Vice President of Human Resources. This role partners with leadership to support employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, compliance, training, and workplace safety, helping maintain consistent and effective HR practices across the organization.

Human Resources

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to leadership and managers, providing guidance and direct support in employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and terminations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies, advising the VP of HR on risk mitigation, employee relations matters, and required actions.
  • Coach and support managers in employee performance management, accountability, conflict resolution, and effective employee management practices.
  • Support organizational and change management initiatives, assisting the VP of HR with workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage talent acquisition processes, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding for exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance expectations, employee development planning, and succession support.
  • Administer employee leave and accommodation processes in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Oversee and communicate employee benefits programs and coordinate with vendors to support employee benefit needs.
  • Support HRIS systems (ADP and ClearCo), employee records, and reporting to support compliance and workforce planning.
  • Assist and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, recommending process improvements to enhance HR effectiveness across locations.
  • Conduct onboarding, orientations, and exit interviews, and support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Support compensation and job classification processes, including market reviews and internal equity considerations.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports to support leadership decision-making and workforce planning.
  • Assist with semi-annual performance reviews and follow up with managers and employees to ensure timely completion.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Evaluate safety practices across locations to confirm compliance with workplace safety requirements and reduce organizational risk.
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims management and return-to-work coordination.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage safety compliance programs in coordination with external partners, including management of compliance platforms.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team and support team activities and companywide safety initiatives, coordinating required safety training as needed.
  • Partner with the Safety Advisor to support safety compliance and risk reduction efforts.
  • Coordinate or provide ergonomic assessments and safety-related training to promote safe work environments.
  • Manage employee driving records and car insurance documentation for employees receiving a car allowance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, and recruitment responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and HR reporting tools.
  • Professional HR certification required:
    • PHR or SPHR, or
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of broad HR generalist experience in a multi-location or fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sourcing and recruiting using LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, workforce planning, or organizational development initiatives.
  • Skill supporting safety programs and workers’ compensation administration.
  • Experience coaching managers and supporting leadership teams.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and vendor management.
