About This Position

This job supports Mercy’s philosophy of patient centered care by analyzing data trends, ensuring data integrity, preparing reports, and creating visual dashboards for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires one year of experience in healthcare or administration, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Tableau, excellent communication skills, and a track record of managing detailed information accurately. *This is an onsite position here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Job Duties
  • Develop and maintain Revenue Cycle/Financial Analysis and communicate to Director of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Assist the Director in developing and maintaining standards to measure the effectiveness of all aspects of the revenue cycle.
  • Develop and maintain statistical data for monthly and/or daily reports (denial reports, late charge reports, etc.).
  • Provide feedback to the affiliates regarding issues found during analysis of processes.
  • Assist affiliates with Best Practices throughout the Revenue Cycle.
  • Work in a group setting sharing thoughts and ideas regarding reporting.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the general public, affiliate executives and staff, and physicians on all matter which relate to Mercy Medical Center.
  • Work with affiliate departmental staff to ensure standardization and compliance.
  • Operate department equipment and systems.
  • Adhere to all MMC Personnel policies and procedures, departmental policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Operate Slicer/Dicer functionality within EPIC and other analytical tools to identify process change needs, etc.
  • Responsible for the Revenue Cycle compliance initiatives both within the compliance function as well as functions across the enterprise, as well as managing relationships and maintaining communications with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Lead and direct the researching, planning, implementation, and monitoring, validation, and reporting for a broad portfolio of Revenue Cycle compliance systems and initiatives to enable organizational compliance with all applicable Federal, state and local regulations/laws.
  • Oversee the researching and interpretation of regulations and laws to establish Revenue Cycle compliance standards, and may direct the development and/or delivery of training and communications/change management relative to new standards.
  • Analyze all Revenue Cycle functions to identify trends, provide communication to the managers.
  • Analyze data trends and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Maintain data integrity by collaborating with administrators/providers.
  • Prepare reports and streamline existing ones for accessibility.
  • Create visually engaging dashboards using Tableau, Epic and other tools.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from relational databases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet organizational goals.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture through professionalism and teamwork.
  • Support survey research and data collection efforts, if required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Proficient in operation of computer, calculator, filing systems, copy/fax machines and telephone system.

Professional Experience Required:
  • One year of experience in health care and/or administration.
  • One year experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Microsoft, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and graphics software (ex: Tableau, Corel Draw, etc.).
  • Recent projects/products that demonstrate a successful history of accurately organizing and managing detailed information.
  • One year of work experience that displays excellent interpersonal, professionalism and customer service skills.
  • Evidence of contributing to a positive internal workplace culture.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Iowa healthcare systems, healthcare insurers, and organizations.
  • Experience using Tableau Prep cleaning, validating, and analyzing data prior to visualization.
  • Experience with survey research and data collection accompanied by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources within 90 days of start or transfer date.
