JOB SUMMARY

• Organizes and administers the volunteer program in such a way as to obtain, train, supervise, and support a competent, adequate, and satisfied staff of volunteers to work with hospice.

  • Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position
  • Accountable for the regulatory requirements, functions and duties of volunteer program
  • Deals effectively with community/consumers
  • Demonstrated advocate of quality and cost effective care
  • Interviews volunteers for program and placement
  • Understand the physical, psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients and families
  • Must be knowledgeable of quality assessment and performance improvement activities
  • Compose applicable policies and procedures
  • Audit, monitor, and retrieve data
  • Coordinate meetings
  • Proven written and editing skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Requires ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills
  • Requires extreme diplomacy and tact
