About This Position
Role: React/UI developer
Location: Bethesda, MD (Remote with occasional travel to Bethesda, MD)
W2 Contract
Role & Responsibilities:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certifications.
• 7-10 years of professional software development experience and a proven track record of designing successful and user-centered digital experiences, ideally including web portals and complex high traffic web applications.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles with UI/UX design and engineering experience.
• High proficiency in building web applications with Javascript and React.js/Next.js/Angular.js/Vue.js/Node.js.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, Spring.
• Experienced working with component libraries + adding customizations (CSS, HTML…)
• Highly proficient developing for x-browser compatibility and x-device responsiveness.
• Highly proficient integrating with third-party tools via APIs (e.g., Smartsheet, Mailgun…)
• Experienced setting up, administering and using open-source CMS systems like Strapi.
• Proficient integrating SSO / authentication services.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of Cloud-Native application development, with experience deploying, running and supporting applications in cloud platforms. Preference for AWS experience but others (Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OIC)) will be considered.
• Highly proficient developing and running applications using containerization; working with associated tools to generate and orchestrate images (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Highly proficient defining and deploying applications on Kubernetes using Helm Charts and YAML files, establish connectivity through RBAC (Kubernetes permissions to access pods/services) and IRSA (IAM role and policy settings for service/storage access) access control systems, and managing Vault secrets.
• Highly proficient building and deploying CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery (e.g., Github, Harness, Jenkins).
• Experienced working with and interfacing to various AWS storage types – S3, PostgresDB, DocumentDB for storage/retrieval of data.
• Ability to establish instrumentation/monitoring of application platforms using generally accepted tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
• Experienced in all phases of the SDLC – able to elicit, organize and document comprehensive technical requirements, develop and execute test plans and scripts, and manage unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Good at managing work execution, including the planning and organizing of work, driving for results, and proactively providing status updates.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and identify and drive required tasks to completion in a timely manner. Strong sense of personal accountability and proactive in following through.
• Strong problem solver; comfortable working through ambiguity.
• Comfortable embracing the role of facilitator (especially during requirements gathering and operational readiness preparation).
• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to mixed audiences – to Product owners in a business-friendly manner and to technical personal in technical detail.
• Good relationship management skills with ability to work in a highly matrixed organization. Comfortable reaching out to others to cultivate work network.
• Experienced using productivity tools: SNOW, JIRA, Confluence, Teams, MS Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar, as well as prototyping tools for interactive designs.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field and/or equivalent experience/certification
• Ability to quickly learn new application development technologies and/or previous exposure to Oracle APEX or Oracle Visual Builder Application Development platforms.
• Understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud Global HR product capabilities.
• Experience working in a managed service environment.
• Good understanding of ITIL v3 Framework.
• HR domain experience (especially Training and Development).
• Hospitality industry experience/knowledge.
