TIRE TECHNICIAN I - AUSTIN at Texas Disposal Systems – Creedmoor, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The Tire Technician I works under close supervision and direction This position assists in monitoring and maintenance of the overall condition of the tires on company vehicles.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
2. Under close supervision will change, repair and rotate tires; process wheel torque sequences; conduct and document fleet checks; maintain service truck readiness; request parts and tires; respond to offsite or route service calls.
3. Track tire usage.
4. Document tire shop operations and track time in accordance with company procedures.
5. Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used, and repair times.
6. Perform monthly inventories as required.
7. Immediately report any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
8. Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
9. Attend safety meetings.
10. May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.
11. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Successful completion of assigned training in tire repair operations within the first 90 days of employment.
• Some mechanic tools from an approved list of tools.
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of tire sizes and application
• Knowledge of job-related safety rules and regulations

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class C driver’s license
• Safe driving record for last three years
