About This Position

Under the leadership of the Technology Manager, the Senior Infrastructure & Security Specialist will provide strategic leadership for the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) and its affiliates, regarding technology systems. This role involves validating technology recommendations, developing disaster avoidance plans, and ensuring that the systems of the Bermuda Hospitals Board operate at peak performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manages the design and development of enterprise network architecture framework including the technology architecture strategy, policies, standards and best practices
  • Assists with the design, architecture & implementation of Microsoft Windows Server Operating System and core infrastructure services such as Active Directory (AD) and all associated topology
  • Assists clinicians with the wide variety of challenges they face with adopting EMR/EHR technology
  • Leads the "roadmap" and planning the transition from the current architectural framework to the architecture of the future; ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
  • Maintains broad knowledge of new technologies, identifies those that may benefit company and evaluates their potential integration into current solutions; considers impact to current production systems when evaluating new technologies
  • Accurately identifies and documents system components, logical flows and hardware interfaces
  • Designs, maintains AD architecture documentation, standards, policies and procedures Provide project lead responsibilities for AD migration Provide lead technical support for AD infrastructure in a 7x24 environment

Qualifications &/ Registration required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • MCSE or similar certification a plus
  • Possess 5+ years’ relevant technical and/or related experience serving in a similar capacity and in an environment with tasks of similar scope, complexity, and technical difficulty
  • Prior Healthcare industry experience working in acute care organizations is required
  • Strong, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the company’s management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Knowledge of IT Healthcare best practices related to infrastructure configuration and maintenance, system administration and documentation
  • Proficient with VMware and Windows 2003/08 operating systems, web applications, shell scripting
  • Experienced with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation

Schedule: 35 hrs. per week

Closing date: 21 June 2025

Salary grade: BP28-30 Starting Salary $93,566.53 per annum ($51.4102 per hour)
