Job Function
To assist the brewers in the production of beer to finished packaged products ready for sale
Main responsibilities
Brewing:
Brewing - Wort production, cellaring, packaging
Cleaning – vessels, casks and the premises
Routine maintenance of brewery equipment
Ensuring quality, health and safety measures are adhered to and maintained
Assisting with monthly stocktaking
Database - Data entry and information updates
Updating brewery software for production and ingredients etc
Host brewery tours on a rotation basis
Other tasks as required

Person Specification:
This post is physically demanding and carries a great deal of responsibility. We are seeking somebody with a mature outlook, who can publicly represent the brewery; work well in a small team and has an eye for detail. It is a very practical environment, which involves the understanding and monitoring of a wide range of processes.
Breweries are noisy, hot (and cold), steamy places, with strong smells. Workers need to be aware at all times of the prevalent risks associated with the tasks at hand. This will involve the operation of machinery and working with hot, and chemical hazards. You may be expected to work at heights, using ladders for access to vessels. Protective clothing, such as overalls, gloves, boots and occasionally masks and ear protectors need to be worn when and where necessary according to the relevant Health and Safety directive. All PPE will be provided.
The working day will involve loading and unloading raw materials and other products and will occasionally involve working outside in all weathers. It will also involve standing for long periods. The successful candidate may be required to lift and manage heavy sacks and casks. The work may not be suitable for people who are sensitive to dust. On Job training will be provided.
Essential
An interest in real ales and their production
Previous brewing experience (drink production)
Responsible about hygiene, and health and safety
Computer competence (e-mail, spreadsheets, word-processing)
Numerate (for weighing and brewery calculations)
Good at paying attention to detail
Practical with good manual skills
Willing to work with machinery
Able to work well in a team
Have good communication skills
Reliable
Aptitude for learning
The ability to multi-task and successfully react to additional tasks as they occur, such as managing commercial deliveries and public enquiries.
