About This Position
Description:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Licensed Apprentice Plumber with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction plumbing. The ideal candidate will assist journeymen and foremen in the layout, installation, and repair of plumbing systems while continuing to develop skills and knowledge required for licensure advancement.
- Assist with installation of plumbing systems including water lines, sanitary waste, vent piping, and fixtures in new construction.
- Support journeymen with layout, material handling, pipe cutting, soldering, gluing, and system testing.
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work orders under supervision.
- Ensure all work meets local and state plumbing codes and job specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Help identify and troubleshoot plumbing issues during installation.
- Load and unload materials and maintain accurate inventory of supplies.
- Follow directions and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Maintain proper documentation of hours and tasks for apprenticeship program requirements.
- Valid Texas Apprentice Plumber License (or registered and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners).
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in construction plumbing.
- Solid understanding of plumbing systems, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of construction drawings and blueprints.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and eager to learn and grow in the trade.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Must pass background check and drug screening (if applicable).
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Active commercial construction sites (both indoor and outdoor).
- May involve working in varying weather conditions, heights, or confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift heavy materials, bend, climb ladders, and work on feet for long periods.
