Now Hiring: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Peoria DTA – Peoria, AZ
Schedule: Monday through Friday | 6am-10am -1pm-5pm
Job Type: Full-Time | Day Program

About Peoria DTA:
Peoria DTA is a structured, supportive day treatment program dedicated to enriching the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. Our team creates a safe, engaging environment that promotes personal growth, independence, and community involvement.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Peoria DTA team. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing hands-on support, implementing individualized service plans, and assisting members with daily activities, personal care, and skill-building programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Duties
-Safely drive clients to and from the day program, appointments, and outings.
-Follow designated routes and schedules.
-Ensure all passengers are seated and secured (e.g., seatbelts, wheelchair restraints).

Vehicle Care and Maintenance
-Conduct daily vehicle safety checks (fuel, oil, tires, lights, etc.).
-Keep the vehicle clean and report any maintenance issues.
-Maintain accurate trip logs and mileage records.

Participant Support
-Assist clients with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely.
-Provide basic support to participants with mobility or special needs.
-Communicate respectfully and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff.

Health and Safety
-Follow all traffic and organizational safety policies.
-Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to supervisors.
-Support emergency procedures if needed (first aid, evacuation, etc.).

Teamwork and Communication
-Work closely with program coordinators, support workers, and families.
-Attend team meetings or briefings as required.
-Represent the organization professionally in the community.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old

High school diploma or GED required

Valid Arizona Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)

CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)

Article 9 and Prevention & Support certifications preferred

Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is a plus
