Environmental Laboratory Intern (Summer 2026) at SOUTHERN PETROLEUM LABS – Reading, Pennsylvania

We’re looking for a driven, dependable Summer Intern to support our Environmental Laboratory team in Reading, PA during our 2026 seasonal peak.
In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory environment, supporting daily testing operations and contributing to the accurate analysis of environmental samples. You’ll work alongside experienced laboratory professionals, build technical skills, and play an active role in maintaining quality, precision, and efficiency in our lab processes.
Please note: This is a temporary, full-time paid internship anticipated to run approximately three months, from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2026.
What You’ll Do
- Support daily laboratory operations and team activities
- Assist with organizing materials, supplies, and general workflow tasks
- Enter and maintain information using company systems and software
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow established procedures and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding priorities and tasks
- Provide general administrative and operational support as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent while actively enrolled in a Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field degree plan
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer applications
- Previous laboratory, administrative support, or clerical experience is a plus, but not required

Work Schedule
- Full-time, paid seasonal internship, Monday – Friday (30–40 hours per week)

- Schedule flexibility required, including occasional extended hours or weekends to support business needs
