About This Position
Position Summary
The Project Manager, Management Consulting (Supply Chain) leads client-facing delivery of supply chain management consulting engagements, providing project and people leadership across multiple concurrent projects throughout the U.S. and internationally. This role owns day-to-day execution against the agreed Statement of Work, including project governance, stakeholder management, and coordination with subject-matter experts to deliver measurable outcomes across workforce management, labor management software implementations (including multi-site deployments), engineered labor standards, productivity improvement, and operational assessments. The Project Manager is instrumental in the success of client delivery and presentation, account management and client satisfaction. The Project Manager assumes accountability for delivering requirements of the agreed upon SOW, identifying future business development opportunities with current clients and developing trusted advisor relationships. Industrial engineering experience is valued as an enabling skillset, though not the primary focus of the role.

Job responsibilities:
- Manage delivery across multiple projects and workstreams by owning integrated workplans, milestones, resourcing, and day-to-day execution, providing daily leadership to the delivery team.
- Manage client engagements end-to-end (scope, schedule, budget, quality), translating SOWs into team deliverables and running stakeholder management and governance (weekly status, steering committees) with executive-ready communications to deliver on time and within budget
- Lead operational assessments and improvement initiatives across store operations, DC/warehouse and fulfillment operations, and transportation interfaces, developing labor planning, scheduling, and volume-to-labor models to optimize staffing and service levels
- Provide industrial engineering and operations expertise, including time and motion studies, work measurement, sampling approaches, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering to support evidence-based recommendations.
- Continuously improves our technical approach to implementing Labor Management software in Supply Chain. Also possesses a comprehensive understanding of how to successfully guide a client through an LM implementation.
- Participates in internal strategic initiatives to enhance Supply Chain offerings.
- Responsible for the presentation of deliverables to client and providing change management expertise in implementation of solution.
- Ability to quickly understand several client industries, environments, and ability to create strategies and implementation plans that align with client and project goals.
- Reviews and approves all project finances, including but not limited to, financial management of the assigned staffing complement, travel expenses, travel coordination, and project reviews.
- Coaches and develops project team by providing proper support and direction, ability to provide and engage in feedback, performance, and personal development conversations.
- Capable of conducting time and motion studies and work measurement tasks for development of engineered labor standards, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities.
- Performs research into new technologies that provide efficiency gains for our clients’ businesses.
- Supports the Supply Chain Practice’s growth through situational assignments for activities such as, team communication meetings, strategy sessions, and individual strategic initiatives, etc.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops (Ops, HR, IT, Finance) to align objectives, validate requirements, and drive decisions
- Travel extensively (40-60%), and sometimes independently, throughout the US and Internationally
Competencies:
- Demonstrates an expert understanding of LM software solutions (Blue Yonder, Manhattan, and/or Next View) and how to successfully navigate a client through a Labor Management implementation.
- Leads multiple projects and large client engagements.
- Earns the respect of clients as an expert consultant and trusted advisor; models the standard for effective communication to all stakeholders.
- Develops a clear understanding of each clients' business and how our services can benefit operations.
- Develops comprehensive presentations at the appropriate level of detail. Effectively acts as a technical expert and technical leader and leads complex analytical work. Writes comprehensive client reports and internal standard practices.
- Demonstrates the role of the professional consultant and the technical skills required to be an effective Industrial Engineer.
- Guides teams to focus on what matters and develops meaningful business relationships with clients.
- Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, and analytical thinking.
- Demonstrates understanding of Top-Down ELS development, including Rt/Allowed Deviation and use of sensitivity analysis.
- Effectively writes technical summaries to explain your work.
- Demonstrated strong Excel-based abilities, use of regression analysis and other data-mining techniques.
- Flexibility to work alternative hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7+ years’ experience in a consulting role using Industrial Engineering principles, having led and managed client engagements across multiple industries.
- 3+ years' experience in the Distribution operations and/or engineering.
- Expert knowledge of Labor Management software solution in one of the following: Blue Yonder, Manhattan or Next View.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills (PowerPoint), analytical problem solving (Excel), and stakeholder management, with the ability to drive deadlines across multiple projects
- Ability to create and manage project budgets, with a strong understanding of travel coordination and travel expense policies
- Knowledge of change management principles, ability to create influence in implementing recommended solutions.
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing end-to-end project solutions, including industry and customer research, creating strategy and project vision, design and development of solution meeting, SOW, and associated change management practices.
- Demonstrated leadership – with internal teams and clients, maintaining a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and solve problems.
- Ability to understand and create budgets.
- Knowledge of performance management process and systems to provide the appropriate level of feedback to project team members.
- Strong work ethic and capability to work independently.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Mastery of core IE principles, including Labor Standards, MOST, time studies, etc.
- Exposure to industrial engineering methods (work measurement, time studies, capacity modeling, Lean), preferred
- Access to reliable auto transportation and a major US airport.
Working conditions
This position, at times, must work in challenging, non-standard environments. This could include:
- Time of day: Evenings (5 PM - 10 PM), overnight shifts (10 PM – 6 AM),
- Day of week: Weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
- Environmental: Client sites with abnormal temperatures, such as but not limited to, above 70°, between 37° and 50°, and below 32°
