Part-Time Cleaner at Girl Scouts of Gateway Council – Jacksonville, Florida

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Cleaner will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our GSGC Leadership Center in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for routine cleaning of office spaces/cubes, meeting rooms, common areas, kitchen/break room and restrooms to ensure the facility remains professional and ready for staff, volunteers, Girl Scouts and guests.

This position typically works evenings or non-business hours but may be requested to work weekend day shifts as a porter during large events, or after large evening activities. This individual may occasionally assist with room setup or facility needs during the day or during special events hosted in the building. This position is expected to work approximately 12-15 hours per week. The schedule will be determined at the time of hire and may be distributed across a seven-day workweek, with additional hours scheduled as needed and with advance notice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Facility Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchen, mother’s room, and break areas
• Disinfectall hard surfaces in conference rooms, training rooms, meetingspacesand other multiuse areas of the building (individual employee workstations are excluded)
• Disinfect door handles throughout facility
• Vacuum carpeted areas and mop hard-surface floors
• Dustblinds, windowsills, baseboards, and other surfaces as needed
• Empty trash and recyclingreceptacles throughout the building
• Clean glassentrancedoors,interiordoor glass, andrestroommirrors
• Sweep andmaintainexterior entryways and sidewalks near building entrances keeping free of debris and trash
• Maintainthecleanlinessand readinessof meeting rooms and sharedcommonspaces
• Spot clean walls, doors, and high-touch surfaces
• Restockrestroom and kitchen supplies, includingpaper towels,toilet paper,soap,and related items
• Monitor the facility for maintenance and proactivelynotify Girl Scoutmanagement of repair needs, supply shortages,securityconcernsoradditionalcleaning requirements
• Additionalhours may be requested from time to time to support larger events, including evening or weekend work. During these times,additionalduties may include assisting with room setup andcleanup, as well as serving as a day porter throughout the event.

Facility Support

• Helpmaintainan organized storage and supply area
• Ensure cleaning supplies areproperly storedand used safely
• Lock and secure areas of the building after cleaning if working after hours

Qualifications

• Previouscleaning or janitorial experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability tolift upto 25–30 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check (requiredfor all council employees)

Compensation

• $20 per hour
