About This Position
Job Summary: Resident will provide a breadth of patient care encompassing all age groups and health states. The resident will practice in hospital, outpatient and nursing home settings, under direct supervision of an attending faculty member. The degree of independent decision-making will increase commensurate with the level of training and individual competence of the resident. As a member of the Forrest General Hospital medical staff, the resident must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Ability to maintain good relationships with referral sources, faculty, staff, patients and families.

- Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and preceptor phases of your orientation to your job.
- Demonstrate medical knowledge through treatment plans and care for patients in any setting.
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communications skills through timely patient results follow-up.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times through proper behavior and appearance.
- Demonstrate time management by timely documentation in patient charts.
Qualifications: Education/Skills Required to be a medical school graduate from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredited school.
Work Experience: None required.
Certification/Licensure- DUE UPON HIRE
- Eligible for a temporary license to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi.
