About This Position
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager with running an efficient and effective Maintenance department. To supervise, coordinate, direct and counsel maintenance employees. To resolve problems, utilizing sound judgment and when necessary, seeking guidance. Adherence to company, supplier and regulatory rules/regulations is paramount. The requirement to function closely as a team in relation to plant operations, Quality and customer contact.
JOB SUMMARY- Develop Maintenance department work schedule.
- Maintain proper parts inventory and organization.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining department spend targets.
- Develop / Execute preventative maintenance program to include tracking of the program.
- Assist with planning and designing capital projects.
- Support tracking down time to include reasoning and prevention of reoccurring issues.
- Adherence to company, supplier and regulatory rules & regulations. Including DNR, FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
- Office/Production/Outside Environment
- Maintenance shop / fabrication environment
- Rotating shifts / after-hour calls.
- Working knowledge of PLC’s,
- Strong ammonia refrigeration systems and high-pressure boilers experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and power.
- Knowledge of PMO, USDA, EPA, OSHA regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Ability to mentor and develop the maintenance team.
- Manage, coordinate, direct and counsel employees within documented parameters.
- Resolve problems, utilize sound judgment and when necessary, seek guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and react as necessary.
- Provides direct supervision to subordinates, including training and development opportunities, conduct performance reviews.
- Development of maintenance staff for succession planning.
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical or related field preferred.
- Three years’ experience performing similar work, preferably in a food-manufacturing environment.
- One year of Managerial experience.
