We are seeking an SME II Technology Capabilities (Government Site) to provide senior technical leadership for highly classified TS/SCI (SAP-eligible) defense programs focused on APNT and C5ISRT in contested environments. As a Chief System Engineer (or Deputy), you will lead end-to-end development—requirements, design, integration, test, and transition—while managing technical risk and execution within the DoD 5000-series lifecycle and Agile processes. Qualified candidates bring 10+ years as a CSE/Deputy CSE on $100M+ programs, 8+ years leading SCI-level efforts, deep APNT/PNT protection experience, and a master’s degree in a relevant technical field; military/DoW experience and C5ISRT/C-C5ISRT integration and countering expertise are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Chief System Engineer (or Deputy CSE) providing technical leadership and oversight for APNT/PNT protection and C5ISRT capabilities in a TS/SCI (SAP-eligible) environment.
  • Lead end-to-end systems engineering execution across requirements, architecture/design, manufacturing, integration, test, and transition to operations.
  • Define, manage, and validate technical requirements; conduct assessments of new and emerging capabilities to inform roadmaps and investment decisions.
  • Establish and run a formal technical risk management process, including identification, mitigation planning, tracking, and escalation of technical issues.
  • Drive program execution within the DoD 5000-series acquisition lifecycle, ensuring artifacts, reviews, and decision points are met.
  • Apply Agile development practices to guide iterative delivery, technical trade studies, and integration across cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate and brief stakeholders and senior leaders on technical status, risks, integration outcomes, and mission impact.
  • *This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

    Qualifications:

    • Active Top Secret/SCI (must be clearance-eligible and prepared to maintain clearance status throughout the duration of employment.)
    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an engineering/scientific/technical discipline related to PNT and/or C5ISRT.
    • 10+ years as a Chief System Engineer (CSE) or Deputy CSE on a major technology program or portfolio valued at over $100M, with leadership/oversight of complex design, manufacturing, integration, and/or test.
    • 8+ years in a leadership capacity on SCI-level (or higher) classified programs and APNT operational/technical experience focused on protecting and controlling PNT data in contested environments, including C5ISRT support to military operations.
    • 5+ years overseeing technical requirements and assessments for new/emerging capabilities, executing activities supporting the DoD 5000-series acquisition lifecycle, using Agile development processes, and establishing/managing a formal risk management process for a technology development program.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military or DoW experience.
  • 8 years with C5ISRT and C-C5ISRT systems that integrate/analyze data from multiple sources, including experience countering these systems.
