Position Overview
The Engineering Intern will support the engineering team by assisting with procedure updates, drawing changes, part number creation, and basic 3D modeling using Inventor. This role will also involve hands-on work, including building and testing various components and collaborating with production to manage inventory, testing, and shipping processes. This internship provides valuable real-world experience in a dynamic engineering environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in updating engineering procedures and documentation
- Support drawing modifications and part number creation
- Perform basic 3D modeling in Autodesk Inventor
- Gather, sort, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Work hands-on to build and test various components
- Collaborate with production teams to assemble, test, and ship products
- Help manage inventory and ensure proper documentation for parts and assemblies
- Other engineering projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Experience or coursework in CAD modeling, preferably Autodesk Inventor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Will need to secure their own housing for the duration of the internship
Work Schedule & Environment
- Work performed in a shop and office environment.
- Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
- Walking, Standing, Sitting, Bending, and Stooping
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
