Description
Key Job Responsibilities
- Radiopharmaceutical Preparation and Administration: Calculate, prepare, and administer radioactive drugs (tracers) orally or intravenously.
- Imaging Procedures: Position patients for imaging and operate cameras that detect radiation, creating images of organs and tissues.
- Radiation Safety and Compliance: Monitor radiation exposure levels, use shielding, and safely dispose of radioactive waste.
- Patient Care and Communication: Explain procedures, obtain patient history, and address concerns to ensure comfort and safety.
- Data Processing and Analysis: Process and enhance images using advanced computer software for interpretation by radiologists.
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment, such as PET or SPECT scanners, to ensure quality control.
