Electrician at United Rolls Inc – Canton, Ohio

Primary Function

• Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and wire all electrical apparatus, devices and circuits of any voltage.
• Tools and Equipment
• Test equipment and instruments, lathe, electrical welder, soldering equipment, power hand drills and grinders, miscellaneous hand tools, drill press, saws, pipe benders, safety devices.
• Materials All types and sizes of AC and DC electrical equipment, repair and replacement parts and supplies, motors, generators, circuit breakers, power distribution and control circuits, conduit and fittings, wire and cable, hardware, insulation, solder, etc.

Working Procedures

• Receives instructions from supervision regarding work assignments.
• Analyses drawings and wiring diagrams to install circuits and equipment and to determine need for and method of repair or replacement.
• Plans working procedure; considers all safety precautions and the proper isolation of circuits to cause minimum of interference to operations. Determines necessary tools and materials.
• Locates sources of electrical troubles by tracing and testing circuits for faulty operation.
• Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces parts and wiring on motors, generators, distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, meters, etc. Installs or re- assembles tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation. Performs work on hot lines when required.
• In emergencies, shuts out defective coils in order to get equipment back in operation. Changes DC motor characteristics by shunting series coils, etc.
• Fabricates parts as required, using shop machine and hand tools.
• Starts and stops air compressors. Alternates water pumps on air compressor.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
