Position Summary & Key Areas of Ownership
The goal of the Individual Day Vocation is health and wellness, meaningful daytime, and lifelong learning. This position provides direct support to individuals of the residence, as well as meaningful day-to-day activities. This position requires daily documentation for consistent and billing with Medicaid.
Schedule: Monday through Friday – 9:00am – 3:00m (30 hours weekly).
Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.00, per hour.
Core Responsibilities
- Advocating for individuals to lead self-directed lives; engage individuals daily to provide meaningful day programming: plan, schedule and participate in various therapeutic activities; day to day problem solving; completion of all required documentation for Medicaid billing; transporting individuals to activities; readying clients for the day and providing hands on care for those needing assistance with ADL and hygiene skills; administering medication; professional communication with the individuals, their families, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Maintain vocational skills through ADL's, volunteering and/or employment opportunities.
- Participate in all meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
- Must possess a high school degree or GED certification; a college degree is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential setting; day program experience preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership and stakeholders and work with diverse teams.
- Active CPR, First Aid and DDS Medication Administration Certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Application and Therap.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Must possess an active DDS Medication Certification.
