About This Position
Summary of Position:
The Product Data Associate is responsible for supporting the Research & Development team in the continued growth of products and therefore the profitability of MBC Companies. This role will set up and maintain all data for raw materials and finished products across all software platforms. This role provides accurate and timely data management execution and tracking and will communicate progress to R&D leadership on a consistent basis.
Essential Functions:
- Product Information Handling
- Establish expertise in the various software systems MBC Companies leverages for R&D data management
- Set up & maintain product data for all new raw materials
- Set up & maintain product data for all new finished saleable products including but not limited to nutrition information, case size, pallet configuration, cost, product weight, allergens, grain calculation, Smart Snack calculations, product formulation statements, and application in our software program and on the website.
- Partner with Food Safety Quality and Operations to support pertinent documentation needs for raw materials and finished goods
- Partner with Sales to support customer requests for documentation in a timely manner
- Engage with individual customer databases for data entry as needed
- Actively participate in the MBC Companies commercialization process
- Miscellaneous Tasks
- Assists R&D as necessary to execute product and brand growth.
- Support the R&D team with any education and training opportunities as needed.
- Support R&D team with sample shipment.
- Support internal product sensory evaluations with set up and data collection.
- Crosstrain to support the R&D team in the absence of a team member as needed.
- Support the Office Administrator by filling in for these responsibilities when needed.

Education and Experience: Please list the education and experience required for this position, such as:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Computer skills: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, creating and editing PDFs. Quick to learn new communication platforms and ability to learn new software.
- Experience in customer service, school nutrition, food manufacturing preferred.

- Ability to handle and record proprietary detailed information.
- Willingness to learn and be flexible.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Must be able to conduct themselves accordingly.
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, sitting for long periods of time; some walking and bending is required. May require lifting boxes of up to 40 lbs. Expected Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. The employee must be available during “core” business hours between 8:00-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
