Summary: Provide operational support to SP Richards distribution centers by serving as a central point of contact for inbound facility-related communications. Partner with distribution facilities, transportation providers, and internal teams to efficiently route requests, resolve issues, and support freight-related activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as the primary intake for inbound phone calls and emails related to distribution center operations, accurately documenting and routing requests to the appropriate teams
Coordinate communication between distribution centers, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders to support timely issue resolution
Facilitate freight claims for LTL damages, shortages, or missing freight and follow through to resolution
Communicate with commercial carriers regarding trapped freight, reconsignment requests, delivery exceptions, and other transportation-related inquiries
Track and follow up on freight-related issues to ensure closure and proper documentation
Support distribution centers by responding to operational inquiries and escalating issues as needed
Maintain accurate records and reporting related to freight claims, carrier communications, and operational exceptions

- Strong computer skills; proficient with navigating multiple systems concurrently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical mindset: must be able to gather, analyze, and drive insights from data
- Experience in wholesale distribution a plus
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
