North Shore Strategies is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Campaign Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of a statewide progressive Democratic campaign in New York State. The ideal candidate is a senior-level campaign professional with demonstrated experience managing complex, large-scale campaigns across diverse regions, coalitions, and media markets. This role requires exceptional political judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to manage a high-performing statewide operation from launch through Election Day.

About the Role

As Campaign Manager, you will serve as the campaign’s chief strategist and operational lead, responsible for overseeing all aspects of a statewide race. You will manage senior staff and consultants, integrate strategy across departments, and ensure the campaign remains disciplined, compliant, and competitive in a dynamic political environment. This position demands strong leadership, clear decision-making, and the ability to balance long-term strategy with rapid-response execution.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine a comprehensive statewide campaign plan, including voter targeting, regional strategy, messaging, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor to the candidate, working closely to align campaign priorities, public posture, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and coordinate senior campaign staff and consultants across field, finance, communications, digital, and operations, ensuring integration and accountability.
  • Build and manage a strong statewide campaign infrastructure, including regional directors and departmental leads.
  • Oversee statewide voter contact programs, including paid and volunteer canvassing, phone and text programs, relational organizing, and coalition outreach.
  • Lead fundraising strategy in coordination with finance staff and consultants, including call time, major donor cultivation, events, PAC engagement, and digital fundraising.
  • Direct message development and communications strategy across earned media, paid media, digital, and surrogate engagement.
  • Approve press materials, speeches, public statements, and campaign messaging to ensure consistency and discipline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key statewide stakeholders, including elected officials, party leaders, labor unions, advocacy organizations, and endorsing groups.
  • Ensure full compliance with New York State Board of Elections regulations, campaign finance laws, and reporting requirements; oversee campaign operations and internal controls.
  • Manage campaign budget, cash flow, and financial reporting in coordination with finance and operations staff.
  • Anticipate and resolve strategic, political, personnel, and logistical challenges in a fast-moving statewide environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with North Shore Strategies leadership and the Lead Account Manager to evaluate performance, adjust tactics, and ensure alignment with broader strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressively senior campaign experience, including at least one full-cycle statewide or large-scale federal campaign in a campaign management or senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-region campaigns with large staff, volunteer bases, and consultant teams.
  • Strong understanding of New York State political dynamics, voter demographics, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building disciplined, high-performing teams under pressure.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and sound political judgment.
  • Experience overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets and high-volume fundraising operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort serving as a senior campaign spokesperson when needed.
  • Proficiency with campaign tools and platforms, including NGP VAN, voter data systems, and Google Workspace.
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively throughout New York State as required.
  • Strong alignment with Democratic values and a commitment to advancing a progressive policy agenda.
