About This Position
The Assistant Branch Manager - Float is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the administration and daily operations of a full service branch office. These functions include member service in accordance with Blaze’s objectives, product sales, lending, and branch compliance. This position is also responsible for the professional development and supervision of assigned staff. The key objective is to retain, motivate, and provide coaching to staff with the intent to develop sales techniques and assist in the achievement of retail sales goals. This position is a leader in the branch, participates in community affairs, and works to enhance the credit union’s visibility. Implement unique, best-in-class service to build meaningful relationships with members and prospective members. This position will drive unparalleled member satisfaction, net promoter score (NPS), member retention, cultivate a culture of excellence, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of the organization. This position will float to various branches as needed. The main branch for this position will be Woodbury East but may float to Woodbury West, Minneapolis North & South, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Roseville North & South, Blaine, Maple Grove, St Paul, Coon Rapids, St Paul West, Golden Valley, Vadnais Heights or Plymouth.
Blaze is currently offering a bonus for DNA experience for $5,500 paid over a 2 year period, and $2,000 for Non-DNA experience paid over a 1 year period for all branch and member experience center positions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager in the coaching and development of branch staff in order to retain a motivated, professional work force for the Credit Union ensuring the branch is able to reach its goals and sales expectations
- Assist the Branch Manager in training (if applicable) and developing other staff in all branch functions as well as Blaze policies and procedures while communicating Blaze’s direction and objectives to staff
- Assist Branch Manager in coaching staff on sales techniques and loan procedures to meet monthly CORE product goals ensuring both employee and overall Credit Union goals are met
- Communicate all development and performance issues and employee recognition opportunities to the Branch Manager
- Assist Branch Manager in meeting branch NetPromoter Score (NPS) to ensure superior level of Member service through Member and staff communication.
- Pursue networking opportunities in the community while expanding knowledge of industry trends
- Assist in upholding the appearance and maintenance of the building and grounds to ensure a pleasant, professional atmosphere for our members to conduct their business
- Support all branch daily activity and assist branch manager in meeting branch and Credit Union goals and management?
- Assist with scheduling staff, entering PTO requests, and ensuring policies/procedures are followed
- Assures prompt service to members by working teller line during key times such as lunch breaks, acting as a resource for staff
- Back up the New Account and loan application process as needed to extend needed financial services and expand credit union membership
- Communicate concerns and acclamations to Branch Manager on member relationships and sales expectations.
- Research member problems and questions, making any necessary corrections
- Assist in ensuring Branch follows and maintains security policies, internal controls and procedures to protect the employees, members and assets of the Credit Union
- Oversee the monthly branch audits
- Ensure all employees follow dual control and other security policies and procedures
- Oversee the acceptance of branch cash and cards
- Work with Internal Auditor during branch audits as necessary
Other Duties
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Minimum High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3-4 years of similar or related experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
Demonstrated Knowledge
- Strong sales skills; ability to identify member’s needs to explain features and benefits of Blaze services and to close sales opportunities and meet sales goals
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
- Must possess problem solving, project management, and leadership skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports, legal and complex documents
- Ability to respond positively to change and growth to support Credit Union goals and upper management

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. The salary range for this position is: $66,192.04 - $99,288.06. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
