About the Role:

The Activities Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by planning, organizing, and implementing a diverse range of engaging activities and events. This position is responsible for creating programs that promote social interaction, physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being tailored to the interests and needs of the community served. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in recreation, social work, education, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in planning and coordinating group activities or events, preferably in a community, healthcare, or educational setting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with participants, staff, and external partners.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and scheduling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in activity coordination, recreational therapy, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, children, or individuals with special needs.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to speak a second language relevant to the community served.
• Familiarity with grant writing or fundraising to support program development.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, schedule, and lead a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities that cater to diverse participant interests and abilities.
• Coordinate logistics including securing venues, materials, and any necessary permits or approvals for activities and events.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community organizations to enhance program offerings and ensure participant safety.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, participant feedback, and program outcomes to evaluate effectiveness and inform future planning.
• Promote activities through various communication channels to maximize participation and community involvement.
