About This Position
A Tony Roma’s Server is the primary provider of GO! Service to our guests throughout their dining experience. The Server takes guests’ food and beverage orders, enters and transmits those orders to the kitchen, delivers meals, checks back with guests to ensure satisfaction, and processes payments. The Server is also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within their station, as well as assisting with stocking and preparing the restaurant to meet guest needs.
Essential Functions
- Prepare the restaurant and assigned station for guests
- Greet seated guests promptly and professionally
- Answer questions and make recommendations regarding menu items and beverages
- Accurately record guest orders
- Enter orders through the POS system
- Prepare side items and complete soup and salad orders as needed
- Deliver beverages from the service bar and food from the kitchen
- Respond to guest requests and anticipate guest needs throughout the meal
- Address guest comments, complaints, or questions professionally
- Clear tables of soiled plates, trash, and empty glasses
- Present guest checks and process payments
- Offer a friendly farewell to departing guests
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and security procedures
- Assist guests throughout the restaurant and help in other stations when needed
- Perform additional duties related to guest service as assigned by a supervisor
Personal Appearance
Servers must be well-groomed and neatly dressed in the appropriate uniform throughout their shift.
Physical Requirements
Servers must be able to perform the following physical activities for up to eight hours per shift:
- 35% Standing
- 25% Walking
- 25% Carrying
- 5% Lifting
- 5% Reaching
- 5% Cleaning
Servers must be able to lift and carry food plates and beverage trays weighing up to 10 pounds. They must also lift and carry stacks of soiled plates, glassware, and supplies weighing up to 10 pounds, and racks of clean glassware weighing up to 30 pounds.
Environmental Exposure
Servers primarily work in a climate-controlled dining room but will regularly move between the dining area, kitchen, and dish area, which may involve exposure to heat and humidity. If assigned to outdoor patio service, servers may also be exposed to varying weather conditions. The position requires the use of various cleaning solutions.
Servers interact frequently with guests and team members and may encounter stressful or challenging situations that must be handled in a pleasant and professional manner. Servers are expected to work effectively with limited supervision.
