Purpose: To create, maintain, and effectively and efficiently operate the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). To ensure smooth administration of employee benefits. Support the Human Resources Director with the various functions within the Human Resources Department. Status: Level IV, Supervised by Human Resources Director

Responsibilities:

PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use and optimize Paylocity Payroll System as in-house payroll expert.
  • Prepare and process weekly payroll.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Enter status changes completed by HR Director.
  • Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Issue and distribute paychecks to appropriate locations and people.
  • Exercise critical-thinking methods to identify and solve problems.
  • Run various reports on a routine weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly basis.

BENEFITS & AUDIT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine and track staff eligibility for insurance benefits and 401(k).
  • Run Benefits Orientation for newly eligible staff.
  • Work with contracted Benefits Administrators to effectively manage enrolled staff benefits.
  • Work with auditors for 401(k), Workers Compensation, and other audits as needed.
  • Review and prepare monthly and quarterly benefits insurance invoices.
  • Participate in the 401(k) Investment Committee.
  • Be available and responsive to staff questions relative to benefits.

DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Order office supplies for administrative departments.
  • Inventory first aid cabinets, restock and order new supplies as needed.
  • Work with Store Managers to ensure Labor Law and all other postings are up to date.
  • Work with HR Director to roll out and track mandatory companywide trainings.
  • Provide backup to HR Director for tasks such as New Hire Orientations and Protected Leave tracking.
  • Maintain and organize the filing of the Human Resources Dept.
  • Maintain and organize online payroll system.
  • Maintain and organize online insurance benefits systems.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow GreenStar’s safety rules.
  • Assist other employees in safety needs.
  • Report unsafe equipment and conditions.
  • Participate in safety training programs, assist with accident investigation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

STOREWIDE AND OTHER DUTIES

  • Attend Human Resources trainings, all-staff meetings, department meetings, and OBM Huddles to stay informed.
  • Support on-the-job training of new staff.
  • Read GreenStar publications to stay informed.
  • Respect and comply with storewide personnel policies.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Extensive knowledge of Paylocity and/or other HRIS systems.
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated payroll accounting system.
  • Effective interpersonal communication: both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Excellent problem solving/judgement skills coupled with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent computer skills: Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Paylocity Payroll Software.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Open to input/feedback on work performance.
  • Self-Driven/Motivated throughout shift.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, stay calm, and prioritize.
