Breakfast Attendant
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Wed. & Thurs. Off Hours: 6 AM - 1PM

Purpose:
The Breakfast Attendant supports the daily operation of the hotel’s continental breakfast service by ensuring all food items are prepared, stocked, and presented according to company standards and property guidelines. This role follows all policies and procedures, contributes to departmental goals, and performs additional tasks as assigned by management.
The Breakfast Attendant’s warm welcome and inviting personality creates memorable moments for our guests. They will provide exceptional service, while focusing on attention-to-detail in regard to safety and cleanliness. A team member who supports and participates in SMR Legendary Service and Promise for guest satisfaction and exceptional guest interactions.
Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business:
The Breakfast Attendant will work 8-10 hour scheduled shifts based on occupancy, season, and staffing levels. Weekend and holiday availability is required to support peak demand and ensure smooth breakfast operations.
The Breakfast Attendant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the breakfast dining area, kitchen, and all related food service spaces.
- Respond promptly and effectively to guest concerns, action items, or recurring issues to prevent future occurrences.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Follow all food safety protocols including food preparation, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
- Prepare food items each morning according to established recipes, standards, and timelines.
- Cook food items efficiently to ensure appropriate quantities are ready at the correct times.
- Serve food items using proper portion control as directed.
- Keep all breakfast items properly stocked and maintained throughout service.
- Replenish food and beverage items as needed to ensure a consistent guest experience.
- Ensure the security and care of all breakfast equipment and supplies.
- Communicate with property managers regarding inventory needs, ordering, projects, and any guest-impact concerns.
- Maintain awareness of local events, occupancy trends, and industry standards that may affect breakfast operations.
- Support and promote a culture of legendary service and hospitality.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and care throughout the property grounds, pool areas, common spaces, and back-of-house areas as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with local health departments, fire inspectors, and other state or local agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Management reserves the right to change, remove, or add duties as necessary.

- Collaborate with other team members and my supervisor to communicate issues and coordinate tasks to ensure dining/food areas operate cohesively and efficiently.
- Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Interact with team members and guests in a positive and friendly manner, in all situations.
- No team member will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.

Skills / Knowledge:
- Be in good physical condition and be able to perform indoor and outdoor duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and use the English language fluently: speak, understand, read, and write. Adapt Spanish interpretation when necessary.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas/industries is preferred which includes: Hospitality, Restaurant, and Quick Service/Fast Food.
- Certification for ‘ServSafe Food Handler Program’ is required within 30 days from work start date (Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination and Allergens, Time & Temperature, & Cleaning and Sanitation).
- Ability to work within a diversified workforce.

Essential Functions:
Specific vision abilities required for this job include peripheral, distance, close, and depth perception and the ability to adjust vision focus. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit, use hands to finger, touch, handle, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and descend numerous flights of stairs consistently. The employee is required to use hand, arm, and leg to reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds daily on their own. Ability to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoors. This position requires continuous ability to remember information.
