About This Position
The Prepared Foods Packaging Team Member, plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and hygienic packaging of prepared food items for distribution and sale. Your primary responsibilities will include carefully handling and packaging various food products, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to food safety regulations. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to cleanliness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately package prepared food items according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Operate packaging machinery and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Inspect packaged food items for quality, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Report any deviations from quality standards and work with supervisors to address and resolve issues promptly.
- Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow established food safety guidelines and procedures to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of packaged food products.
- Complete packaging records, logs, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including production staff and quality control, to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
- Strive to meet or exceed production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
Personal Requirements:
- Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality food products.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating portion sizes.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to undergo training and follow company policies and procedures.
- Texas Food handler certification required.
Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
