Inventory Control Specialist at The McPherson Companies – Trussville, Alabama

General Summary:

To perform all warehouse functions including managing inventory, preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, driving, and assisting technicians in all aspects of their duties.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Management to ensure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload and load products in and out of trucks in a manner compliant with company policy and local, state and federal regulations.
• Pull and stage orders for technicians.
• Ensure Technician’s find parts as needed and are documented as required.
• Order and stock inventory parts on shelves as they arrive from vendors.
• Ship packages by appropriate freight carrier and maintain required paperwork.
• Manage new and rebuilt cylinders to ensure inventory stock levels and customer jobs are correct.
• Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Help with tank builds as needed.
• Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by Management.
• Ensure the facility is properly shut down, including closing all roll up doors and locking doors if needed.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Inventory Management Experience.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, cherry pickers, etc.
• Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
