15-25 hours per week depending on business needs between 7:30a-5pm Monday – Friday. Evening and Weekend work is rare but possible depending on business need.

As a part-time STEPS Office Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support for the Temporary Employment office. This position will have a strong focus on onboarding, data accuracy/entry, and customer service. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on HR experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
We’re seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with people, has a can-do attitude, and can effectively manage multiple priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with onboarding support for STEPS employees, including scheduling paperwork appointments and ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and on time
  • Support the processing of new hire paperwork and other employment-related documents in accordance with university guidelines
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate employee and departmental records within HR systems
  • Provide payroll-related administrative support, including timekeeping follow-up and assisting with payroll documentation
  • Communicate professionally with applicants, new hires, and university department contacts to provide guidance on onboarding processes and requirements
  • Respond to general office inquiries in a timely manner
  • Organize and maintain confidential personnel records in compliance with university policies
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations of the STEPS office
