The Senior IT Portfolio Management Professional plays a pivotal role in aligning technology initiatives with strategic enterprise priorities within complex insurance technology environments. This role partners closely with business, technology, and product stakeholders to oversee IT programs and projects, balancing financial, regulatory, and operational demands. The position requires strong analytical skills, strategic insight, and the ability to influence portfolio decisions that impact customer experience and business outcomes. You will prioritize work across multiple systems, including claims platforms, policy administration, digital health tools, and data platforms, ensuring that investments and resources are allocated efficiently. Autonomy in decision-making, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration are essential, as you shape the portfolio to maximize value and drive operational excellence.
- Partner with business, technology, and product leaders to ensure IT portfolio alignment with enterprise goals.
- Prioritize and manage programs and projects, balancing discretionary and non-discretionary spend.
- Evaluate funding against portfolio budgets, adjust schedules, and manage intake/throughput capacity.
- Assess technical approaches, sequencing, and dependencies within insurance technology ecosystems.
- Produce portfolio-level metrics, dashboards, forecasting reports, and performance trend analysis.
- Influence departmental strategy by evaluating business value, platform impacts, customer outcomes, and risk.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, technology delivery, or related fields.
- Experience in insurance technology ecosystems, including claims, policy administration, provider systems, and digital health platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in portfolio performance metrics, dashboards, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of ad-hoc query tools and data repositories for operational, financial, and portfolio analysis.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, Six Sigma, or PMP certification.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and influence decisions across teams.
