The position leads the evolution of a foundational design system into a scalable, AI-compatible platform that enables both humans and intelligent agents to generate consistent, accessible user experiences.
It requires a strategic thinker who can simplify complex systems, reduce design and code fragmentation, and establish strong governance across a global developer ecosystem.
The role partners closely with product and engineering leadership to ensure seamless translation of design intent into production-ready code.
It also plays a key role in shaping standards for accessibility, usability, and system consistency at scale.

- Define and lead the evolution of a design system into an agent-native, AI-compatible platform of primitives, patterns, and guardrails.
- Simplify and consolidate system complexity by reducing redundancy and creating a more opinionated, scalable design foundation.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design systems into development workflows and code outputs.
- Establish and enforce standards for accessibility, consistency, usability, and overall design quality across human- and AI-generated interfaces.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between design, engineering, product, and marketing to ensure system adoption and business impact.
- Lead execution against measurable outcomes including system adoption, efficiency gains, and product quality improvements.
- Build, scale, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and accessibility experts, including managing managers.
- Develop a strong leadership culture focused on craft, clarity, and high-performance execution.
- 12+ years of experience in product, platform, or systems design and development, or equivalent academic qualifications with progressive experience.
- 6+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams across design and engineering, including management of managers.
- Proven expertise in building or leading design-to-code systems that connect design frameworks with engineering implementation.
- Strong ability to simplify complex systems and design scalable, opinionated frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in driving alignment across design, product, and engineering organizations.
- Experience working on developer platforms, technical ecosystems, or large-scale digital products is highly preferred.
- Background in AI-enabled or generative UI systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational influence skills in complex environments.
