About This Position
GA Foods is seeking to hire a Food Prep Cook for our Fort Lauderdale location. The Food Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food for daily distribution by following pre-defined recipes and menus, while meeting time-sensitive requirements and adhering to food safety standards and specifications at our St. Petersburg location. This role includes packing and portioning food according to menu specifications, assisting with clean-up, storage, required recordkeeping, and performing other duties as assigned. Responsibilities
Prepare meals under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor or Unit Management for distribution, following standardized recipes and portion controls
Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control protocols
Assist with cleaning the kitchen, packing area, and other areas as directed
Perform general utility duties as assigned
Prepare meats, sauces, casseroles, desserts, and gravies
Operate meat slicers for slicing meat products
Complete and maintain required paperwork and records
Assist with facility sanitation and housekeeping
Pack food products and components accurately according to menu specifications
Participate in all required company training, including but not limited to HACCP, GMP requirements, and ServSafe certification
Provide support to Packing and Sanitation staff
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Experience
Some industrial cooking experience preferred
Ability to operate equipment such as meat slicers, steam kettles, convection ovens, warmers, pallet jacks, and similar equipment
Ability to follow written recipes and cooking/packaging instructions accurately
Must be able to meet the employer’s attendance standards
Ability to portion and pack products to precise quantities and counts
Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds repeatedly on a regular basis throughout the shift
Required to work a full-time scheduled shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, or until production is complete

This position follows a standard weeklyschedule,however, weekend work may be required based on business needs.
