What You’ll Do

As a Lead Clinical Pharmacist, you will combine clinical expertise with operational leadership responsibilities:

Serve as the evening Pharmacist-in-Charge, managing workflow and staffing based on patient census
Perform clinical verification of medication orders for safety, accuracy, and therapeutic appropriateness
Provide expert drug information and consultative support to medical and nursing staff
Lead and supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure productivity and compliance
Troubleshoot automated dispensing cabinets and pharmacy systems to maintain uninterrupted patient care
Ensure compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards for sterile and non-sterile compounding
Manage non-formulary medication requests with a focus on cost-effective care
Oversee shift handoff communication and provide detailed updates to leadership
Ensure continuity of care through a dedicated feedback loop to pharmacy leadership
Identify and report medication errors and near misses, supporting a culture of safety
Support onboarding and training of evening pharmacy staff
Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures to enhance workflow and safety

What You Bring

Education
PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program required

Experience
Two to three years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency preferred

Licensure and Certification
Active Massachusetts Pharmacist license or eligibility for reciprocity required
Board certification preferred
