POSITION PURPOSE

The Market Director will oversee the operations, performance and strategic direction of all branches in the assigned Market within the Credit Union. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive growth, enhance member experience and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies and procedures, while fostering a collaborative team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Team Development

  • Recruit, train and mentor branch managers and branch staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture focused on member service and team collaboration.
  • Conduct regular coaching and performance check-ins to enhance team effectiveness.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure all branches operate efficiently and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Establish clear performance metrics including member satisfaction, loan growth, and deposit growth for each branch and regularly review progress towards goals.
  • Implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute market strategies aligned with the Credit Union’s overall goals.
  • Analyze market trends and member needs to identify opportunities for growth and new services.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align market initiatives with organizational objectives.

Financial Management

  • Oversee Market budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor and control expenses across all branches, identifying areas for cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls.

Member Experience and Community Engagement

  • Champion member service excellence and lead initiatives to enhance member satisfaction.
  • Engage with community organizations and events to promote the credit union’s presence and services.
  • Address escalated member concerns and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all branches adhere to regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitor and review audits and assessments to identify potential risks and compliance issues.
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain operational integrity.
Requirements:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

4-year college degree preferred plus three to five years’ experience in the audit management; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Seven to ten years’ experience in the management of Retail Banking, Sales and Banking, and 5 years strategic management at a senior management level; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience working in a Universal Associate model financial institution a plus.
  • Experience using P.C. based software including Microsoft Office and lending systems, etc.

  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision making, identify opportunities and measure success.

Salary: $121,000 - $150,000 annually (depending one experience)
