About This Position

Overview:

KeenLogic is seeking a Senior Engineer (Energy) to support our team with one of our government clients. This position supports Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities.  

The role focuses on supporting energy management and resiliency initiatives across DoD facilities, ensuring efficient and compliant operation of building systems. Responsibilities include developing strategies, overseeing contractor efforts, and providing technical expertise in areas such as HVAC systems, building controls, energy distribution, utility metering, and emergency power. The position also involves identifying and implementing energy conservation measures, conducting life-cycle cost analyses to evaluate project viability, and supporting initiatives that enhance energy efficiency, security, and overall facility resiliency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10 years of relevant work experience

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and 8 years of relevant work experience

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

Required Work Experience:

  • Develops strategies and oversees work performed by the contractor team

  • Provides technical support in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building control systems, chillers and chilled water distribution, boilers and steam distribution, utility metering, lighting, emergency power, data centers, life-cycle cost assessments, and third-party performance contracting

  • Identify energy conservation measures and perform life cycle cost analysis to determine the savings-to-investment (SIR) ratio of projects

  • Provide technical support on implementing energy conservation measures to enhance energy security and resiliency

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with preparing documentation for grant applications for development of energy projects aimed at improving facility resiliency

  • Experience with developing projects incorporated into third-party finance agreements
