We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dietician to join our team. As a Registered Dietician you will play a crucial role in assessing and making recommendations for patients with specialized dietary needs.

Pay Range: $65,000.00-$72,000.00 Annually

Essential Duties of a Registered Dietician:

  1. Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients/clients based on medical history, lab results, and current dietary intake.
  2. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans to address specific health needs and goals.
  3. Provide evidence-based nutritional counseling and education to individuals and groups.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and therapists to integrate nutrition into overall care.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
  6. Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
  7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance reviews related to nutrition services.
  9. Stay current with the latest research and best practices in dietetics and nutrition science.
  10. Provide support for menu planning and food service operations when applicable (e.g., in inpatient or long-term care settings).
  11. Educate staff, patients, and the community on topics such as disease prevention, weight 11. management, and healthy eating.
  12. Support discharge planning by providing follow-up nutrition resources and referrals when needed.
  13. Participates in multidisciplinary program development and evaluation, treatment modalities and emergency crisis/response
  14. Participates in/ assists with the planning and implementation of performance improvement activities to promote continuous improvement in care delivery
  15. Assists in education and training programs, policy writing, and research/program development
  16. Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization
  17. Demonstrates cultural competence and a willingness to work with diverse populations.
  18. Demonstrates competence in assessing an individual’s social determinants of health and implementing effective strategies to overcome barriers
  19. Collaborates with and promotes teamwork among all member of the healthcare team and openly expresses ideas for new programs or enhancements to current programs and services

Minimum Qualifications of Registered Dietician:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and/or dietetics, required

Master’s degree, preferred

Experience:

1-2 years of experience working in a medical, clinical, or hospital setting, preferred

License/Registration/Certification:

Possession of a valid, active license and current registration to practice as a Registered Dietician in New York State

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), computer skills and knowledge in nutritional software programs
  • Knowledgeable about specific disease states, nutrition support, and eating disorders
  • Ability to provide medical nutrition therapy, conducting nutrition assessments, and implement the nutrition care process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
