Sr. Advertising Strategist (Recruitment)
Contract: Part time (10-20 hr/week)
About the Role
Were looking for a part-time recruitment advertising strategist who can help us make smarter decisions about job ad spend across Indeed and a programmatic partner (Appcast, Joveo, etc.).
This is not a hands-on media buying role and not a technical build-out project.
We simply want someone who can:
Support us with expert guidance as we evaluate and adopt a programmatic partner
Offer strategic insights on how our budget should align with applicant flow, hiring priorities, and performance trends
Help our team understand the why behind those recommendations
Think of this as a high-level advisor who helps our team get better results from our advertising budget and improves applicant flow for our clients.
The Contractor Consultants (TCC) is the leading outsourced hiring partner for the construction industry. We manage high-volume hiring for contractors across the U.S. and Canada, handling everything from job posting to screening and interview coordination. We support roles such as laborers, foremen, project managers, estimators, superintendents, and more.
What Youll Help With:- Advertising Strategy:
- Provide strategic guidance on monthly job advertising budget allocation
- Analyze performance by role, market, and source to explain where higher or lower ad spend is required and why (e.g., location competitiveness, role scarcity, conversion rates).
- Advise on how to improve apply volume, cost-per-apply, and overall funnel health.
- Provide strategic guidance on monthly job advertising budget allocation
- Programmatic Guidance:
- Understand the strengths and differences between programmatic partners
- Learn how to use the platform correctly in our day-to-day workflow so we maintain steady applicant flow and get the most efficiency from our job ad spend
- Know what to look for inside the tool (performance trends, warning signs, opportunities, etc.)
- Build clarity on how often we should review roles, what metrics matter most, and how to interpret them
- Learn how programmatic tools make decisions so we know what to expect and how to respond
- Meet weekly at first (then bi-weekly) to walk through:
- spend levels
- applicant volume
- cost-per-apply
- which jobs are struggling
- spend levels
- Break down what the data means and what actions we should take
- Help us keep the applicant pipeline full and predictable
- Teach our team how to interpret the numbers and dashboards
- Provide ongoing recommendations that make our advertising more efficient
Performance Review:
Team Support
5+ years in recruitment advertising, media buying, programmatic job ads, or similar
Experience with Appcast, Joveo, Recruitics, or another programmatic vendor
Managed job ad budgets, minimum $2M+ annually or $180K$200K/month equivalent
Strong understanding of recruiting funnels (apply screen interview hire)
Comfortable explaining advertising performance to non-technical teams
Experience in high-volume, blue-collar, or skilled-trades hiring is a plus
Contract Duration: 36 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 1020 per week, flexible.
Youll provide:
Guidance and input as we move through the programmatic vendor evaluation and onboarding process.
Strategic recommendations that help us understand and optimize our job advertising approach.
Clear insights from performance reviews so our team knows what actions to take.
Coaching and support to help our team confidently use the platform and interpret job ad data.
