The Marketing Communications & Digital Strategy Manager owns the clarity, consistency, and strategic alignment of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s messaging across all channels. This role translates enterprise priorities into cohesive campaigns and communications across social media, email, website, internal messaging, and community outreach. Bridging strategy and execution, this role ensures Retail, Mission Services, and Development messaging is aligned, performance-driven, and audience-specific. Operating with a high degree of independence, this position provides messaging leadership and serves as the quality-control gatekeeper for brand voice and tone across the enterprise.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
  • 3–6+ years of experience in marketing communications or digital strategy
  • Demonstrated experience developing messaging frameworks and integrated campaigns
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and analytics tools
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong writing portfolio demonstrating clarity, persuasion, and audience targeting

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong understanding of digital channel strategy (social, email, web)
  • Experience building and managing content calendars
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize messaging
  • Experience with audience segmentation and lifecycle communications
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to brand tone and voice consistency
  • Strategic thinker who can translate enterprise priorities into executable communications
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Messaging Strategy & Campaign Leadership (30%)

Develop messaging frameworks for:

  • Retail promotions
  • Workforce development initiatives
  • Community impact stories
  • Enterprise campaigns

Write and edit high-level communications including campaign messaging, executive communications, and internal messaging

Ensure voice consistency across departments and initiatives

Digital Channel Ownership (30%)

Own and manage the enterprise content calendar across social and email channels

Guide channel strategy, cadence, and audience targeting

Review analytics and optimize performance across platforms

Oversee website messaging quality, clarity, and alignment

Email & Audience Segmentation (20%)

Develop segmented email strategies aligned to Retail, Mission, and Development goals

Write and deploy email campaigns

Analyze open rates, click-through rates, and conversion performance

Align messaging strategy with donor development and retail revenue objectives

Cross-Department Messaging Alignment (20%)

Coordinate messaging across:

  • Retail
  • Mission Services
  • Development
  • Executive communications

Serve as brand tone and messaging gatekeeper

Support departments in refining communications for clarity, impact, and consistency

PERODICAL DUTIES:

  • Support major retail campaigns and store openings
  • Assist with philanthropic communications initiatives
  • Contribute to annual enterprise messaging plans
  • Support internal communication initiatives
  • Refine and update brand messaging guidelines as needed
  • Assist with special strategic initiatives as assigned

WORK HOURS & BENEFITS

This is a full-time salaried position. Standard working hours are Monday–Friday; however, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support events, campaigns, or major initiatives.
