Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.

Job Description:

The food service team at COTALAND is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager that will be responsible for overseeing an assigned area of food and beverage operations and staff which could range from quick service restaurants to food carts/kiosks and bars. The ideal candidate has proven experience in leading food service operations. This position will oversee staffing, ordering, receiving, daily operations, and the financial success of the assigned area of responsibility within COTALAND.

Requirements:

Basic Requirements & Essential Functions:

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership food and beverage role.
  • Positions in Hospitality Operations, Concessions Management, Supervisor at Fast Casual Dining Restaurants, or equivalent would translate well into this role.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to the Austin, TX area.
  • Must be a team player, well organized, strong computer/Microsoft Office skills.
  • Understanding of recipe development, food cost, and best back of house practices.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond any client needs.
  • Ability to run a business as if you own it.
  • Partner with the culinary team to have a full understanding of current food and beverage offerings.
  • Oversee all front of house and back of house operations and logistics. Ensure all food is prepared and up to the venue's standard while being served.
  • Assist as directed in the planning and inter-departmental communications between the culinary and operations team.
  • Provide strong customer service and upscale experience to all guests.
  • Participate in meetings with Leadership to ensure all expectations are understood and met.
  • Communicating with serving and culinary staff to ensure all scheduled staff are properly trained and prepared for service.
  • Managing the team schedule. Leading staff and providing ongoing development/training to supervise a team.
  • Assisting in tasks including payroll data entry, inventory, uniform management, month end reconciliation, etc.
  • Organizing requisition lists based on business demands.
  • Manage the cleanliness of the assigned area(s), ensuring all opening and closing duties are administered.
  • This position may be assigned to support events within the COTA schedule in other capacities as needed.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.

Work Schedule and Conditions

This position is based on-site at COTALAND Theme Park at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas and requires flexibility for non-traditional hours during rehearsals, installs, openings, and seasonal peak operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
