The salary range listed reflects the full pay span for this position grade across the health system. Most new hires typically start in the lower portion of the range. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s relevant experience, and no employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
Position Title: Perioperative Nurse Educator (Full-Time)
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Perioperative Nurse Educator to lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs that promote clinical excellence and professional growth across perioperative and procedural areas. This role partners closely with nursing leadership and staff to assess learning needs, develop competencies, and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Education & Program Development
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for Pre-Op, PACU, Interventional Radiology (IR), Operating Room (OR), Infusion, and Medical Day Stay units
- Develop and deliver comprehensive orientation and ongoing in-service training for nursing and ancillary staff
- Contribute to curriculum development aligned with national standards and organizational priorities
- Utilize adult learning principles and a variety of teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes
Staff Development & Competency Management
- Partner with preceptors to monitor orientee progress and create individualized development plans
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs and ensure competency validation, including age-specific care requirements
- Proactively address the educational needs of perioperative and procedural staff
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required, or currently matriculated
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience
