Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families?

At Legacy Health, we’re not just a health care provider — we’re a community that values compassionate care, teamwork, and the expertise of our nurses. We’re looking for dedicated, skilled RNs who want to join our exceptional team at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, where you’ll have the opportunity to impact lives in a truly meaningful way. If you’re passionate about nursing and want to be part of a place where you’re respected, supported, and challenged, we want to hear from you!

About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center:

Nestled in the heart of vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is renowned for its cutting-edge care and specialty programs. From nationally recognized doctors in cancer care, neurology, and kidney transplantation to world-class services in robotic surgery, rehabilitation, and weight-loss surgery, our hospital is at the forefront of medical innovation. Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN):

As a vital member of our health care team, you’ll provide top-notch patient care within your assigned department or unit. Working closely with clinical managers and other healthcare professionals, you’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, always ensuring the highest standards of safety and compassion.

This is your chance to take ownership of your patients’ care and make a lasting impact on their health and well-being. You’ll work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and support staff to create comprehensive care plans and deliver the best

outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring adherence to Legacy Health’s high standards for assessment, care delivery, and transfer.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
  • Advocate for patients by offering education and emotional support, helping them navigate their health journey.
  • Use advanced electronic health systems to document patient information and ensure seamless care.
  • Be available to travel to various Legacy Health sites to provide patient care as needed.
  • Consult with providers and nurses to determine the most appropriate vascular access device based on patient assessment and treatment plan.
  • Insert and manage vascular access devices, including peripheral IVs (PIV), PICCs, midline catheters, intra-osseous catheters, and implanted ports.
  • Perform routine dressing and cap changes for central venous access devices, and intervene to maintain device patency.
  • Serve as a resource for the healthcare team in intravenous access, placement, management, and patient/family education.
  • Provide services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
  • For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Experience:

  • At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
  • Thorough knowledge of care and skill in placement of peripheral IV catheters; thorough knowledge of care of central IV access devices and PICC competency as determined by Nurse Manager or designee.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
