About This Position
Histology Lead

Work hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday; 6:30AM - 3:00PM.
Laboratory Department highlights:

Texas Health HEB is a 252-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving our community since 1973. Our location in the DFW mid cities area provides convenient care to the residents of Hurst, Euless, Bedford and the surrounding communities.
We specialize in women's services, perioperative services, heart and vascular care, acute care/med surg, intermediate care/step-down, oncology and emergency medicine. Additional specialties include nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, respiratory therapy, and neuroscience care, including neurosurgery and stroke.
Texas Health HEB is ANCC Magnet Designated, Joint Commission-certified in Chest Pain (PHAC), a Primary Stroke Center, a Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU and Level III for maternal care. Education
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
Associate's Degree Pref Or
Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science Pref
Experience
3 Years experience in a hospital laboratory Req
Licenses and Certifications
HT(ASCP) - Histotechnician Preferred Upon Hire Req Or
HTL(ASCP) - Histotechnologist Upon Hire Req
Skills
Strong positive interpersonal skills. Ability to read, write and speak English clearly. Problem solving ability, time management skills. Possess organizational skills to function successfully in a fast paced work environment. Computer literate in Word, Excel or other data bases. Administrative skills to compile statistics and maintain logs. Ability to multitask. Preferred: Experience with Cerner Millennium LIS.
