Special Services - Trash Removal at Encompass Onsite – Fort Lauderdale, Florida

NATURE OF WORK

The Special Services Trash Removal is responsible for performing daily cleaning and removing trash, cleaning outside windows, stairs, and parking lots as well as other public areas such as in various settings, including residential, commercial, and public areas. Trash and waste removal as required by Encompass and customer regulations, schools, hospital, other settings. This role requires an individual who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of handling physically demanding tasks. The specialist will ensure that waste is collected, transported, and disposed of efficiently and in compliance with all safety and environmental regulations as per Encompass contractual responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities: 

Waste Collection and Removal: 

• Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and other waste materials from designated areas. 
• Handle special waste removal requests, such as bulk item pickups, hazardous waste, and electronic waste. 

Transport and Disposal: 

• Safely transport waste materials to designated disposal or recycling facilities. 
• Operate trash removal vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. 

Safety and Compliance: 

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. 
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste disposal and environmental protection. 

Maintenance and Inspections: 

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. 
• Report any issues or repairs needed to the supervisor promptly. 

 Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. 
• Previous experience in waste management, sanitation, or a related field preferred. 

Skills and Abilities:  

• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects. 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Good communication and customer service skills. 
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. 
• The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. 
• The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods. 
• Exposure to unpleasant odors, hazardous materials, and potential safety risks is possible.
