Driver (Part-Time and Full-Time) at Metro Laundry Service – Capitol Heights, Maryland

Basic Function

The Commercial Laundry Driver is responsible for the timely and safe delivery and pickup of room linen from client hotels using box trucks or similar vehicles. This role ensures the accurate, efficient transport of laundry goods while upholding safety standards and providing professional customer service. The driver will follow all DOT and company safety guidelines throughout each delivery and pickup. CDL is not required; however, prior experience with box trucks is required.

Essential Duties:

• Load, transport, deliver, and pick up hotel linens using a company-provided commercial vehicle.
• Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed per schedule and client requirements; maintain professionalism with hotel staff during all interactions.
• Push, pull, and maneuver heavy laundry bins in and out of hotels and onto trucks; conditions may vary by property and route.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any issues promptly.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company-specific driving and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and inventory using company-provided forms or digital tools.
• Communicate promptly with dispatch and management regarding route changes, delays, or safety incidents.
• Assist with loading/unloading operations as needed and work cooperatively with warehouse and facility staff.

• Proven experience driving 26-foot box trucks or commercial vehicles of similar size; prior experience delivering commercial laundry or related goods strongly preferred.
• Ability to navigate routes within city and suburban areas, adapt to changing traffic or hotel circumstances, and maintain schedule flexibility.
• Familiarity with DOT safety regulations and safe driving practices; must hold a valid medical DOT card.
• Excellent physical stamina: ability to stand, walk, bend, and maneuver up to 75 pounds, and push/pull loaded carts throughout a shift.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic record-keeping or smartphone skills for documenting deliveries and pickups.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving large box trucks, with a clean driving record.
• Experience in hotel, hospitality, or commercial laundry delivery roles preferred.
