Job Overview:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and implements Occupational Therapy treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Required:

Must meet basic professional entry-level educational requirements from an accredited occupational therapy program Valid NJ OT License BLS through the American Heart Association Successful completion of all required orientation programs Scheduling Requirements:

Essential Functions:

Provides skilled interventions, maximizing the patient’s outcomes by successfully anticipating patient’s response to care provided Performs effective, efficient, fluid, and coordinated movement in providing technically competent interventions for patients Performs interventions consistent with the plan of care Recognizes physiological and psychological changes in patients and adjusts treatment accordingly Uses intervention time efficiently and effectively Engages client / family in problem-solving activities Modifies task approach, occupations, and the environment to maximize client performance Determines time for discharge and educates patient on discharge responsibilities Determines need for referral to other disciplines based upon progress, lack of progress with rehab care Determines educational needs and educates patients / residents / families
