Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading month end close processes, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy, supporting financial planning and analysis activities and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role combines strong technical accounting expertise with financial analysis responsibilities and requires a professional who can partner with leadership to provide meaningful financial insight and operational support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Senior Accountant at Fox may include:
- Leading and coordinating month-end and year-end close.
- Reviewing journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting entries for month-end and year-end close.
- Researching and documenting technical accounting matters.
- Mentoring and training accounting staff.
- Maintaining or developing internal control audits, documentation and reporting to management.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
- Driving the development and implementation of improved accounting processes throughout the department.
- Assisting in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Performing variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
- Maintaining or developing financial models to support budget and forecasting.
- Assisting with and/or completing monthly financial reporting.
- Updating knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Maintaining a favorable and collaborative working relationship with co-workers in all departments to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect. Driving standards and best practices whenever possible and effectively foster a culture of engagement.
- Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Being innovative and recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and services performed.
- Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
This opportunity might be for you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- At least 5 years of previous accounting experience in similar or progressive roles.
- Prior experience with cost allocations and separate profit & loss statements for multiple cost centers/locations preferred.
- Ability to lead month-end close and year-end close processes.
- Ability to review and validate work prepared by others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for leadership-level discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and train accounting roles.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements.
- Understanding of budget and financial planning processes.
- Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence, and presence to effectively handle sensitive financial information.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while demonstrating ability to remain flexible in a changing work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated proficiency of all Microsoft Office Applications – Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule, weekdays, with flexibility between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm CST.
- Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and complex accounting areas, economic principles, and auditing practices and principles.
- Self-motivation; demonstrate initiative with a strong commitment to personal goals, objectives, and work ethic.
