Overview
As a TAG Medical Technical Writer, you will work with a team to provide healthcare policy oversight to all healthcare systems and providers. In this role, you will ensure the supported Department of War Command is compliant with medical policy from the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), the Defense Health Agency (DHA), and higher authority.
Security Requirement:
- Possess a SECRET Security Clearance at the time of appointment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, revise, and edit reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents.
- Assist in creating, developing, and managing content for the organization’s web presence.
- Work with a cross-departmental team to maintain and develop the master content calendar and tracker for all Force Medical policy requirements.
- Continuously analyze and review higher-level policy and guidance to ensure local policy is updated and current accordingly.
- Within 90 days of task order award, develop and deliver a system/database for tracking and updating Force Medical policy IAW DHA, BUMED, OPNAV, and DoD guidance; maintain updates once approved.
- Interface with outside agencies as required to obtain reports and policy.
- Develop and maintain a SharePoint portal-based electronic document library for record keeping.
- Provide a monthly report to the FMO and Deputy FMO on the status of current projects; provide an annual summary report.
- Gather input and prepare data to assist in submitting the quarterly/annual N04 activities report.
- Monitor and evaluate the military medical credential and privileging quality control program and all associated regulations, SOPs, written guidance, and policies.
- Serve as a Force Medical historian, gather inputs from stakeholders and producing reports.
- Provide administrative support for tasks and requests related to the requirements above.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. university in a healthcare, scientific, technical, or business discipline (Master’s or PhD desired).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing, researching, compiling, organizing, and writing military publications within the last 10 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of SharePoint portal management.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience working with medical regulations and instructions established by DHA, BUMED, and DoD.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to operate a PC with standard business software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to enter data accurately into multiple databases.
- Ability to produce clear and concise reports and correspondence; able to write in military format when necessary.
- Ability to coordinate complex scheduling and multi-step processes.
- Experience with federal government systems and requirements for maintaining access.
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and regulations established by DHA, BUMED, and the Department of War (DOW).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Maintain professional dress and grooming standards.
- Exhibit professional conduct at all times.
- Comply with all applicable federal, DoD, Navy, and Command regulations, instructions, directives, and policies.
